I had hemorrhoids and when I switched to a whole food high fiber diet they went away for good
use both soluble fiber like oat bran and apples and insoluble fiber like wheat bran and whole grains.
use organic or wildcrafted bulk herbs available in bulk herb section of some local health food stores or fresh picked or google bulk herbs and search..teas are best made using distilled water as it pulls out more of the chemicals/nutrients form the plants
I also looked up the directions to several herbs for this problem in his book
burdock ointment
black walnut tea rectal injections every 3 or 4 hours
chickweed make a tea by boiling the organic herb for 15 minutes (cool) and bathe the area 2-3 times a day (as warm as possible) then apply chickweed ointment
mullein apply mullein ointment and take internally as tincture or tea
plantain make a strong tea (steep one ounce for 20-30 minutes in one pint of boiled hot water, let cool , inject one tbs 3-4 times daily (or more frequently in bad cases) and especially after each bowel movement
red raspberry leaf..inject 6 ounces (tea) and retain as long as possible
spearmint..inject small amounts into the rectum
yarrow use a clean enema then inject the cool tea into the bowels(when there is pain the tea should be about 112 degrees) then inject two tbs several times a day and after each stool
other things I did not look up listed under hemorrhoids in his big herbs are balm of Gilead, butternut, cascara sagrada, cayenne, chaparral, goldenseal, licorice, poke., tormentil, turkey rhubarb, witch hazel distilled aqueous extract or decoction (boiled tea).
for further instructions on using these see the book by Dr john r Christoper called the school of natural healing
Hemorrhoids is caused by the veins in the anal and rectal area becoming swollen and inflamed, resulting in bleeding, itching and pain. The hemorrhoids can occur in different parts of this area, which will determine what type of treatment might be the most effective.
Since you want to treat it at home, some of things you could do:
1. Avoid ‘forcing’ feces out – it will make the hemorrhoids worse. If its hard, try to use natural laxative or glycerol to soften and ease the big hard thing inside your bum.
2. Eat more fibre and drink more water.
The pathogenesis of hemorrhoids requires 2 factors ; A) Weakness of the walls of the rectal veins which is the predisposing factor and this is genetically determined, and B) Increased pressure inside the rectal veins which is the precipitating factor, and this is acquired. As the first factor is genetically determined, it is the least controllable, but it can be managed by some herbal remedies. The second factor is the mainstay of hemorrhoids treatment, and is controlled by dietary and behavioral modifications with the aim of avoiding straining especially constipation.
Dietary modifications. The aim of these dietary changes is to avoid constipation, which is the main cause leading to the development of hemorrhoids and is the main obstacle against hemorrhoids treatment.
1- Increase the amount of fiber in diet; consume high-fiber foods such as whole grain bread and cereals and raw vegetables and fruits. Decrease the intake of low-fiber foods such as white bread, ice cream and soft drinks.
2- Drink a plenty of water, up to 10 glasses daily, especially if you are taking bran as a stool softener. The aim is to avoid dehydration which will lead to constipation.
3- Avoid coffee and alcohol which causes dehydration which leads to constipation. Also, avoid laxatives, as they may cause diarrhea, which leads to dehydration and in addition, they irritate the bowel. You can take stool softeners as bran or psyllium.
Bowel habit retraining. The aim of these changes is to avoid increasing pressure in the rectal veins by avoiding straining
1- Avoid holding stools. Go to bathroom once you feel the urge to pass stools. Avoid straining, holding your breath, and reading while you are on the toilet
2- Sit on the toilet more correctly. Modern toilet design is considered as one of the factors causing increased prevalence of hemorrhoids in industrial countries, because it is less physiological with the process of defecation, as it requires more straining to empty the bowel, while squatting is more physiological because it allows for complete emptying of the bowel with minimal straining. So, what you are going to do is to assume a position more similar to squatting i.e. flex the thighs upon the abdomen and press by your elbows on your knees
Behavioral modification.
1- Practice exercises regularly. This will help smooth bowel movements and avoid constipation.
2- Avoid lifting heavy objects as much as you can. Also, avoid prolonged sitting and standing.
Herbal remedies. Most of the herbs that are known to be effective as hemorrhoid remedies will reduce pain and inflammation and help strengthen the skin and venous walls.
1- Comfrey root powder. It has an anti-inflammatory effect and promotes the formation of new skin. The powder is dissolved in olive oil and applied to the affected area.
2- Gotu kola. It has analgesics and anti-inflammatory effects. It is taken as 25 mg three times daily.
3- Horse chestnut. It strengthens rectal veins. The powder is dissolved in olive oil and applied to the affected area.
Yeah, you must increase your fibre and water intake for sure. What I have done is this: I mix hypericum oil (it’;s red) with 1-2 drops Cypress essential oil, and I apply it topically. It may be painful initially. You need like 1 teaspoonful oil. It takes 4-5 days with 5-6 applications daily… If they are bleeding severely visit a doctor or a herbalist. Good luck!
To shrink the haemorhoids: in the morning before breakfast, take a glass of warm milk, squeeze a whole lemon into it and drink it immediatley. Do this for 3 to 5 days only.
Also the Yoga Pranayam (breathing exercises) will help reduce the haemorhoids.
Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after 1 minute.
Bhastrika – Take a long deep breath into the lungs(chest not tummy) via the nose and then completely breathe out through the nose. Duration upto 5 minutes.
Kapalbhati -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day. Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently.
Do the pranayam(twice a day) until you are better, and then continue pranayam once a day to stay healthy.
Thank you for coming to look at my page on internal Hemorrhoids. I have suffered from both internal and external, but actually found it hard to find information on my internal piles, so I created this site.
Happy I have managed to cure both types of hemorrhoids, I believe permanently.
